Now in its fifth year, the Brian Conlon Foundation is continuing its investment in the Newry community with new funding for 14 local groups.
Grants of £1,500 to £3,500 will strengthen programmes in youth support, inclusive sport, creative arts and community wellbeing.
A Spokesperson for the Brian Conlon Foundation said:
“We are proud to mark five years of supporting groups across Newry by announcing funding for another 14 organisations. Each year we see more inspiring projects applying to the fund, and it is a reminder of the commitment, creativity and resilience that exists throughout our community.”
“Brian believed strongly in giving people opportunities and backing those who worked to make Newry a better place. These awards reflect that belief. They help local groups expand their reach, strengthen their programmes and support children, young people and families at a time when community services matter more than ever.”
“As we celebrate this five‑year milestone, we are reminded of the lasting impact Brian continues to have. His legacy is not only remembered, but also lived, every day, in the work of these organisations.”
Lois Kilpatrick from the Community Foundation for Northern Ireland said,
“Five years on, the Brian Conlon Foundation continues to be a positive force for the Newry community. The organisations funded this year are making a real contribution to community life, offering programmes that benefit people right across the Newry area.
“Each one is working to create opportunities and strengthen community connections, and this funding will help them do even more.”
“Our partnership with the Conlon family has grown year on year, and we are privileged to help deliver a fund that carries forward Brian’s values so authentically. The continued demand for this fund shows just how vital it has become and how deeply Brian’s legacy is felt throughout Newry.”
