Will to Give Week 2026

9 Sep 2026

This week, 7 to 11 September, marks Will to Give Week, an annual campaign that encourages people to consider leaving a gift in their Will to the causes and communities that matter most to them.

Tori Lorimer, Fund Development Manager at the Community Foundation for Northern Ireland, said:

“Will to Give Week is a chance to start a conversation about the impact we can leave behind.

Many people support causes they care about throughout their lives and Northern Ireland is seen as the most generous part of the UK for giving, but few realise they can continue that support in the future by leaving a gift in their Will.

A legacy gift doesn’t have to be large to make a real difference. Over time, these gifts can help strengthen communities, support local charities and create opportunities for people who need them most.

We know that writing a Will is about taking care of the people you love, but it can also be a way to reflect the values that have shaped your life.

At the Community Foundation for Northern Ireland, we’re proud to help people create lasting legacies that support causes across Northern Ireland. There is also the potential to increase the value of eligible gifts through match funding, helping donors to make an even greater impact.

If you’ve ever thought about how you’d like to be remembered, Will to Give Week is the perfect time to explore how a gift in your Will could help change lives for years to come.”
