Whether you’re an individual, a couple, or a family, we can help you to give with impact and support the causes and communities you care about.
Giving is hugely personal and we believe that it should also be a good experience for both the donor and the beneficiary. We’re here to provide independent advice and support that helps you wherever you are and whatever you want to achieve.
You can give us a one-off donation or set up a regular payment now through our official Just Giving page.
Whatever your circumstances, personal experiences, or passion for a place, we’re here to help you to give effectively and with impact.
We can advise you on the best causes and charities to support in the best way with the right amount and at the right time. Philanthropy is about giving time and talent as well as treasure and we’ll guide you through your decisions and the best ways to align your giving to suit your objectives.
If you’re a person or a family with different objectives or diverse passions and you need flexibility we’re here to help you find a structure to make that work.
As you decide whether to support small local and innovative groups or more established national charities and social enterprises, immediate funding needs or more long term developmental issues, we’ll share our knowledge and expertise to guide you through the challenges, opportunities and differences.
How you give can make a big difference too. One-off grants or multiple donations over a number of years in cash, shares or soft loans are all options for you to consider. Hands on involvement or remaining anonymous are the questions we’ll guide you through when shaping the best structure and strategy.
Charities, groups and social entrepreneurs are doing some amazing work changing lives across NI but with over 15,000 organisations with a range of governance models, objectives, sizes and impact achieved it’s easy to become overwhelmed. We use our knowledge and expertise to help you to research and find the right partners.
For example Gary Lightbody, lead singer with the popular indie rock band Snow Patrol, has launched The Lightbody Foundation in partnership with the Community Foundation to give to charities in Northern Ireland. The Lightbody Foundation will have a wide focus, giving to charities across the board “There is no them there’s only us”.
After your family and friends are provided for, leaving a gift in your Will to the Community Foundation helps to ensure that we are here for generations to come and when your Community might need us. Gifts in wills help us to steer funding where its needed most, helping people living in poverty, with mental health issues and those who are lonely or living in isolation – we simply couldn’t do this without your support and a gift in your will can make a vital difference to someone or some place that you care about in the future
Our Women’s Fund is one of many funds where people pool their resources and give collectively in one-off and regular donations. In support of disadvantaged women and girls throughout Northern Ireland, the Fund provides Individual Bursaries filling a gap in funding opportunities for women who require a small amount of financial aid to support them towards fulfilling their potential.
