Openreach Community fund

  • Intro:

  • The fund was originally set up in 1989 as a joint venture between what is now Openreach NI, and the Communication Workers Union, and was renamed the Openreach Community fund in 2024. The fund was created to show our collective and continued commitment to invest in and benefit local communities across Northern Ireland, supporting constituted grass roots community and voluntary groups.

    Priority will be given to projects that will benefit groups dealing with disadvantage (e.g. rural isolation, low income, social exclusion, reduced access to services) and projects must aim to support one of the following groups:

    Young people
    Older people
    People with disabilities
