Our Vision

A vibrant go-to space open to all where citizens can play an active part in influencing the decision-making processes on issues that are important to them.

Project aims
To establish and maintain a representative group of people in Newry Mourne and Down, supporting their engagement to actively share their experience, views and ideas for the purpose of influencing decisions on policy and practice where and when it matters to them.

By delivering this project we hope to achieve the following outcomes:

  • Citizens in Newry, Mourne and Down are directly engaged, through online and hybrid means, in the development and determination of new social, economic and environmental initiatives and related service proposals
  • VCSE organisations are experienced in stimulating and supporting the participation of their members / client groups in direct citizen engagement, and their expertise in this role is recognised by Community Planning partners
  • Statutory partner agencies include use of deliberative online civic engagement as a recognised part of future policy prioritisation and service co-design
  • Elected representatives recognise the platform as a relevant forum for comment, deliberation and ideas generation
Community Planning partners’ resources are directed to shared projects identified by local communities
