Who Can Apply?

 

  • Destitute asylum seekers who have applied/plan to apply for NASS asylum support should obtain legal advice as to whether receipt of this fund/award/donation will affect their eligibility for asylum support. This is the applicant’s responsibility.

What you will need to apply:

In order to qualify for this award, you need to:

  • Provide a letter from Bryson House or your solicitor to confirm that you are destitute
  • Outline, using the application form on our website, in 250 words or less how you are using your time to support other refugees and asylum seekers
  • Provide a letter of endorsement from a person of standing or an organisation who is able to vouch for the voluntary activity you are engaged in 

Should the scheme be oversubscribed, the Foundation will rank applicants on the potential impact of their efforts to support others.

10 awards of up to £500 are available. Payments can be made in cash.

Decisions will be made within a few days following submission of the qualifying criteria. 

Assessment

Applications will be assessed by a panel chaired by the Community Foundation which may include representatives from other organisations working in this field.

Who Cannot Apply?

Asylum seekers who are in receipt of any type of NASS asylum support.
