Intro:
Gary Lightbody, lead singer with the popular indie rock band Snow Patrol, has launched The Lightbody Foundation in partnership with the Community Foundation to give to charities in Northern Ireland. The Lightbody Foundation will have a wide focus, giving to charities across the board "There is no them there's only us".
Area:
Northern Ireland
Priorities:
The Lightbody Foundation has been set up by Gary Lightbody of Snow Patrol. The Foundation is a family Foundation set up to give support to charities in Northern Ireland.
The Trustees are Gary, his sister Sarah, one of Gary’s best friends, Davy Matchett, Candice Cathers, who has worked with Gary at Third Bar for many years, and John D’Arcy, one of the founder members of the Oh Yeah Centre in Belfast.
The Lightbody Foundation will make donations to 5 or 6 charities, twice a year. At this time, those charities will be based in Northern Ireland. They want to help some of those NI charities that are struggling in these tough times, as a result of a potential Brexit and of no functioning government in Northern Ireland.
The Lightbody Foundation has partnered with the Community Foundation to connect them with charities across Northern Ireland.
They are interested in supporting any of the following priorities:
